| One has to respect and love this art form of such catastrophic magnitude but gentle to its approach. When the pageant was handed down to me I was overwhelmed with honor, excited for the challenge, new ideas, great promoters and a new Miss Missouri to teach and help mold as a queen and a friend. The road will be bumpy at times, but sometimes a true teacher has to take a step back to let that individual grow and realize that the person that was there all along never left their side, but was holding their heart and guiding them from the inside. Every new Miss Missouri will have their chance to open those new doors and create new opportunities within. I welcome her with those new challenges that lie ahead, her talents and administrative skills that shall be tested throughout her reign. I thank all the promoters that have taken on the challenge of a prelim. I thank all the bars throughout the state for their energies and time to support our system. Sharing moments with all of you is a treasure and these last 20 years have been a memorable lifetime. To those we have lost they will always live on if you remember them in your heart. To the forthcoming Miss Gay Missouri"s of the future, work hard. The struggle is worth it. As Genevieve Ryder told me at my first Miss Gay Missouri in 1987, "You are destined to be a star." Well, here I am 18 years later, still producing the best ever in female impersonation. To those of the past ....I miss you. To those of the present....I love you. To those of the future....grow strong,we need you! All my love and devotion, Tumara Mahorning Miss Gay Missouri 1992 Miss Continental Plus 2000 |

| The stage is a world, the world is a stage of entertainment. These words sum up the life of any true performer that has ever graced a stage. When I started female impersonation 20 years ago, it was only a moment of a dream to have ever accomplished, performed and witnessed all I have done across this country as a performer. People ask "what would make you undertake such a contest of perpetual magnitude?" Insanity! Putting that aside, it all stems out of one word..... EXCELLENCE, because I believe in the "Miss Gay Missouri America" system and the accomplishments of the friends and the family of sisterhood beneath the crown. |
